CNN cuts ties with freelancer who tweeted praise for Hitler

A CNN freelance contributor reportedly tweeted praise for Hitler on Sunday amid ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hamas.

In a post that has since been deleted, the Pakistan-based journalist Adeel Raja wrote: “Today’s world needs a Hitler,” reported the Washington Examiner.

Raja has been freelancing for CNN since 2013, according to his LinkedIn account, and worked on several stories for the network during that time, the report said.

After CNN found out about the post, he cut ties with Raja.

“Given these horrific statements, he will not work with CNN in any way,” CNN spokesman Matt Dornic told the newspaper.

“Adeel Raja has never been a CNN employee. As a freelancer, his coverage has contributed to some news efforts from Islamabad, ”said Dornic.
